With the idea of building physical stores for Butterfly Records around the world last year, founder October knew that Record Store Day would be a huge celebration for these stores.
The first annual celebration of Record Store Day at Butterfly Records will be this Saturday!
We revealed via Twitter that each of our artists would be participating in this event. October will be taking over the Philadelphia, PA store. Jo E will take over the London, England store. Thema will take over the Sydney, Australia store. The Elephants will take over the Tokyo, Japan store. Each artist will be performing an exclusive set and participating in various Record Store Day activities and giveaways.
Our artists will also each be releasing exclusive items for Record Store Day 2013. Below are the items with pictures and descriptions:
October will be releasing three items for Record Store Day 2013.
The first item October will be releasing for Record Store Day 2013 is her debut mixtape, "Azure", on limited edition blue vinyl. The set includes "Azure" on three discs of blue 12" vinyl record and a bonus CD featuring the entire mixtape with booklet.
The second item October will be releasing for Record Store Day 2013 is a limited edition package of her single "Hegemon". This limited edition package was originally pressed, then canceled, but copies were sent to a select group of fans that pre-ordered the single early, making the package very rare. Now fans will be able to buy the limited edition set, including a CD, DVD, white 7", red 12", fold-out poster, and double-sided lyric sheet, on Record Store Day 2013.
The third and final item October will be releasing for Record Store Day 2013 is a limited edition 7" picture disc featuring the new album version of her single "The Underdog" plus a brand new track "Unhappy". Both tracks are featured on October's upcoming eighth studio album "The Underdog", but fans will be able to listen to both tracks exclusively on Record Store Day 2013.
Jo E will be releasing one item for Record Store Day 2013.
The item Jo E will be releasing for Record Store Day 2013 is a limited edition 7" picture disc of his new single "Sound Waves". Included on the picture disc is the single edit of "Sound Waves" plus a brand new non-album b-side "The End". "Sound Waves" is the first single from Jo E's upcoming second studio album "Audio Pixel".
Thema will also be releasing one item for Record Store Day 2013.
The item Thema will be releasing for Record Store Day 2013 is a limited edition 12" vinyl record featuring 6 remixes from Thema's "Villainess" era, for the first time on vinyl. Included are remixes by R3HAB, Freemasons, Avicii, Fedde Le Grand, Tiga, and Major Lazer.
Finally,
The Elephants will be releasing one item for Record Store Day 2013.
The item The Elephants will be releasing for Record Store Day 2013 is a limited edition 10" vinyl record featuring 4 b-sides from their second album "Element". Each of these b-sides are featured on each Main Element single released from their album, never before released on vinyl. Included is the new b-side "Everything's Not Enough", which will be featured on the fourth and final Main Element, available early exclusively to this release.
