October Press Release - 4/20/12

On April 27th at approximately 7pm, October will take the stage of the Union Chapel in England to a lucky crowd of 200. Her first ever MTV Unplugged show unveils and showcases the raw sounds of October’s sixth album “Horoscope”, as well as other tracks from previous albums, that the common ear wouldn’t recognize. Similar to October’s acoustic rendition of “Horoscope”, “The Butterfly Sessions”, but in a completely different manner, MTV Unplugged will focus on the original synth machines used to create the album along with October’s voice. Each song performed will unlock a brand new chapter in the October discography in a way that fans will hear the basic in-depth creativity that the final studio versions were made from. Not particularly a “demo” sound, but an in-the-moment intimate performance that October will share with the crowd.
Friend and musician Florence Welsh (Florence + the Machine) recently released her compilation for MTV Unplugged and described it as “one of the most intimate experiences of [her] career”. With having released her sixth album “Horoscope” in February following three successful singles, October is ready to release the fourth single from “Horoscope” in May. “It’s Our Time”, the tenth track on “Horoscope”, has been picked as the fourth official single. October describes the track: “It was a very weird experience. After spending the entire Christmas day with my family, that night I dreamt about my family. We were on some sort of mountain or hill, rolling down it, and just laughing. While this was going on, there was music playing in my head. A sort of psychological electronic tune was playing in my head, and the strangest part, I woke up with it still in my head. I was so excited and frantic; I grabbed my phone and recorded myself humming the tune. I put lyrics to the music that very morning and created the song. The lyrics were what the dream was about: the natural fun and adventure my family captures with life.” “It’s Our Time” will be officially released on Monday, May 14th on CD, DVD, 7”, 10”, 12” Picture Disc, Cassette Tape and Digital formats. The CD includes two brand new b-sides, one of which appears on the set list of October’s “MTV Unplugged” compilation. The release also contains remixes by M83, Moby, Burns, and Hercules & Love Affair.
